Making All Natural Cleaning Supplies at Home
Green Cleaning supplies can be expensive. If you are looking for some all natural cleaning products with some added elbow grease that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, look no further.
All Purpose cleanser
What you will need:
A glass container such as a sun tea jar or water pitcher with a lid that fits tightly.
One cup of purified water
One cup of white vinegar
4 to 5 lemon peels
OR
2 or 3 orange peels
Funnel
A well rinsed spray bottle. (It is important to make sure there is no residue left in the bottle that could contaminate your natural cleanser.)
How to make your All Purpose Cleanser:
Boil a cup and a half of water and allow it to cool (boiling a little more than you need will allow for evaporation)
Add the vinegar and water to the glass container.
Add the orange peels or the lemon peels to your mixture. The oils and the fragrance from the peels will be drawn from them by the vinegar into the water to form your cleanser.
Seal your container, and set it aside for 10 days. The peels will become discolored as they release their oils.
Discard the peels, and use your funnel to pour your all-purpose cleanser into a spray bottle for convenient use.
Disinfecting Cleanser
What you will need:
One teaspoon of borax
Three tablespoons of white vinegar
2 Cups of very warm, purified water
Funnel
Clean spray bottle
How to make your All Purpose Cleanser:
Use your funnel to pour the water into the spray bottle.
Add the borax and vinegar to the water, replace the spray nozzle and shake the mixture well.
Spray the disinfectant spray on the surface you desire to clean, allow to set for 10 minutes, than wipe it away.
Rinse the surface well to remove any residue.
Floor Cleanser Cleaner
Mix one cup of white vinegar to a gallon of warm, purified water in a mopping bucket.
Set about a quarter cup aside to clean your mop and bucket with when you are finished mopping.
None Abrasive Scouring Cleanser
Mix one cup of borax with one cup of baking soda in a plastic container with a matching lid for easy storage between uses.
Use as needed to remove soup scum or hard water residue, by creating a paste, and applying it to the surface you wish to scrub.
Allow it to dry, scrub the surface with the cleanser, wipe it up to remove the residue, and rinse well.
